Default Ignition Coil

After about 20,000 miles on my 02 180TTQ, a coil went out. I was on an expressway and lost almost all power ... I could only crawl along. It was very dangerous. The dealer replaced it but said the others are not covered by the so-called "recall" and would not replace them as well. The dealer sells coils for $31.00 a piece and I have thought about buying one for insurance should another one go out on my car while I'm driving in the boon docks or far from home. Does anybody know how difficult they are to install and how to do so? Thanks.

Default Depends on which coil.

Either way it's not a roadside deal like a regular 1.8 is. Too much stuff in the way on the TT to just pop one in and out.

Recalls are VIN specific. So if you're not in the VIN, you get no recall. Also, it is Audi policy that unless the part is broken it does not get replaced. Your dealer is correct by telling you they can not replace all of them because one went out. If they did that Audi wouldn't pay for it.
