Im confused on the t stat issue >>

Ive got the behr with the D Geek belt kit, according to sparttans post about the factory vs walbro ( thanks Hans) dont get the Wahler, but... the Behr I have is identicle to the factory, the issue is the height of the Wahler, Is the Behr identicle ??? and usable , every single mark and part is the same exept the lettering

I think Hans used the Behr just recently and it reads a little high compared to OEM

TTinCT 01-29-2009 04:22 PM

yep...exactly...

HellooMcFly 01-29-2009 04:23 PM

Yep im confused too, a lot of people say Behr runs perfect??? right at 12 o.

I mean it only makes sense that behr makes the same damn part except stamps vw logos on it for the manufacture. No?

Behr testimony

i am monitoring it via the OBD connection thru scangauge>>>

at idle, it is about 4 deg farenheit warmer, however at speed (highway) it is close to 10 deg farenheit warmer...

While it may be an acceptable OEM "equivalent" and manufactured by the same company, it clearly runs a bit warmer. Mind you my numbers are showing in the cold NE.....i will be replacing the t-stat prior to summer...

HellooMcFly 01-29-2009 04:27 PM

I understand, does it still show 12o on the guage or go over?

TTinCT 01-29-2009 04:28 PM

my temp gauge in the cluster is shot>>

so i use only the HVAC and Scangauge...the temp gauge in the car is just a rough number anyway...

HellooMcFly 01-29-2009 04:31 PM

oh lol, ok well resTTo you be the guinie pig and tell me how the behr works or >>>

or you can buy this guy, i think its oem.

<a href="http://www.genuinevwaudiparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214407 &Sectionids=8,0&groupid=61868&subgroup id=&componentid=&make=2&model=Tt&y ear=2001&graphicID=F256030&ca

HellooMcFly 01-29-2009 04:36 PM

So you're showing about 92 on HVAC rather than 87 right?

TTinCT 01-29-2009 04:41 PM

no, more like >>>

95-101 depending on the conditions...
