Default I'm at work and the boss has the TT. She just called and said that the coolant icon

is showing on the center screen on the dash. Water temp guage is dead center, there are no leaks or hissing sounds.

WTF? She asked if the car was OK to drive and I said as far as I'm concerned it is.

What does that icon mean? Low fluid level perhaps?

TIA.

Default Indicates low coolant level...

it also might come on when it's cold out even if the fluid level isn't low. Cleaning the sensor contacts or replacing the overflow tank will fix it.

Default you sure its coolant and not windshield fluid? If you're sure then it might be the temp sensor

assuming that her coolant is at the correct level in the tank. Actually our cars are known for throwing that icon on once in a while.

Default Yes, it is supposed to mean "low coolant level," but does not necessarily mean your coolant is low.

A common issue is that the contacts inside the tank get corroded and falsely set off that warning. If your coolant level is where it should be, that's probably the case.

Follow this link for the fix

She could always pop the hood and make sure there's enough coolant in the tank
