Default Immediate ECU Help PLEASE...

I have been trying to get the ECU out of my TT for a while now and I am having lots of trouble with this. I was able to get the wiring harness out, but I absolutely cannot get the damn ECU itself out. Am I missing something that is holding it in place? I was under the impression that the only thing holding it in place was that small, black metal tab in the front left corner of it.

Default It slides out on little tracks You need to slide it straight out. (more...)

Make sure the little tab is all the way out. (not physicaly removed but it does seem to click twice on mine...out about an inch , then out another inch.) Then there is a retaining tab on the left side of the track (passenger side)
Then I use a long screwdriver to help pry the top plastic piece out of the way so I can get it out. I remember the first time I tried to take mine out...sweating and cursing, but it came out eventually. Hope that helps!

Look on the left hand side... there is a black metal tab you need to bend out.

Default getting it back in in those tracks makes me swear even more.

I have a socketed chip and change when it goes to the dealer, which is all to often. It makes me swear a lot I guess thats part of the fun.
