Default Increased boost not=more power?

I remember reading from this forum that somebody wrote that increased boost doesn't mean increase in horsepower. Sorry I am new to turbo charging, but is it really so? Why is that? (because I read from a local mod mag of a TTq increasing the fuel pressure would increase the boost from the standard 0.6bar to 0.8bar, and tempted to do the same) Many thanks for any advice given..

Default normally boost = power...

boost = more pressure = more air. more air = more power.

however, when you increase boost - the air gets hotter due to harder compression. if you don't try to cool this air (i.e intercooler)to a certain degree, you are not getting power, but a lot of heat in your engine. (well the more energy has to go somehwere, and it turns to major heat).

boost is only good, if its down to a certain temperature.

Default Hot air has less oxygen

For the same presure and volume, hot air contains less oxygen (and less air). I think this is why the intercooler is for.

Close... Hot air is less dense. Not less Oxygen.

Doesn't less denser air implies less oxygen per volume unit ;-)

Default Yes, less everything per volume unit...

But you made it seem as if the ratios of gasses in the air would shift, whereas the more important concept is that the air is less dense.
