Default The infamous lock / light bug?

If this is it (and it sounds like it probably is) a search on 'lock light bug' brings up a bunch of related stuff.

Default Yep. This one one of the symptoms of the bug. But I found it hard to reproduce...

to Audi service technicians. If I remember right, the temporary fix is to switch the light off so that it wont drain the battery. Or another thing I used to do was something like open then close the driver door, then hit the key fob lock and then unlock again with the fob, and finally open and shut the driver door one more time. This seemed to reset the bug so the darned lights would go out.

But you really need to get it fixed or it will annoy you for as long as you own the car.

Follow the link below for a recent discussion of the problem and my recommendation for actually getting the dealer to fix it for you. I got mine fixed and I'm a very happy man.

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/814545.phtml</a

Default Yes.

Sit in the car. Shut the door(s)
Make sure the over-head lights are on.
Turn the car on, start the engine.
Turn it off.
Lock the doors with the key fob.
Unlock the doors.
Open the drivers door.
Shut the door.
Start the car.
The lights should go off.

Hi Jeff. Ask Mark, i believe he got this bug fixed at his dealership. The fix is some kind of grounding cable, that needs to be installed.

BTW. I'm in ATL on the easter weekend visiting Mark. Would be great to hang out with ya too @ fontaines or possibly do a little drive. I'm coming down with the TT. :-)

Yes, you just have to think like a TT central locking state machine ;-)
