It's snowing...finally.
Well, quattro and Dunlop 3Ds work. We're forecasted to get 3-5" by tonight, so I took the TT out for a spin around the neighborhood just to see how it would do. There is a very steep grade to get to the row of houses behind mine, and the car handled it like a champ. There is a doctor who lives up there who had to leave his car at another house because it wouldn't make it up the less steep side. I passed him going the other direction as he was talking to a guy on a four-wheeler. I made another lap, and when I got around to the four-wheeler guy again he asked, "How'd you get up here again?" I think the car had an easier time with the hill than his ATV.
Anyway, I felt like I was in that ski jump commercial, and that was fun.

That sounds like fun.....
Had a simular situation getting out of my parking garage during our last snow fall....I was wondering how the TT would do, after seeing several front wheel drive cars spinning their tires trying to get up the hill. I pulled right up it without even spinning a tire. I am only running Michelin all season tires and it was easy. I can imagine with those dunlops you were well planted on the road.

The day to day drivability of the Del Rio Stg 3 kit, even in snowy conditions still amazes me
Granted the key to decent snow driving is to stay off boost while you're gaining traction so it really drives like a normal TT. Of course if you have traction control off and aren't prepared for maximum boost and you mash the pedal it can get your attention real fast. Most times if you do that though all 4 wheels will lose traction almost instantly and you really won't go anywhere.
But hopefully the people getting into a stage three kit are above average drivers and they should have no problems regardless of the weather.
Besides, I like sending rooster tails of snow back at cars that just sit there spinning while I zoom away. Seems like if I'm ever first at a light when it turns green I'll be 90ft ahead of the car behind me in seconds.

I spent all of last winter at 8,000 feet with the TT...
I was amazed at what a great car it was with snowtires. I have lived in the mountains for many years and it was better than anything I ever drove in that climate.
Like a billy goat - never ever got stuck or handeled poorly.
