I've searched a bit on HPA haldex upgrade, how is that compared to B7 A4 quattro?
I had a C230coupe and now a B7 quattro and I enjoy the RWD and the current rear-biased AWD (both after thicker sway bars and stiffer susp). I understand the TT has haldex (VW 4motion?) and I've read HPA Sport/Competition haldex controllers. I've read good things about them and wondering how diff will the TT feel if I get one (considering 2002 225TT quattro) stock vs stock B7 quattro I have now. Has anyone done a comparison drive? I'm thinking about visiting a dealer soon and hope they still have some MK1 to test drive...TIA

1) completely different systems 2)B7 has rear awd bias? 3)4motion has nothing to do with haldex
(some 4motion cars have torsen)
5) Controller will improve things and provide for a quicker response but the stock haldex doesn't really need improvement for 99.999% of the drivers. Honestly if you're looking for a car with MUCH better driving dynamics, TT is not the right choice to begin with.
6) I only notice AWD difference between TT and A4 in the snow, where TT wants to under steer a bit more.

Sorry dude, haldex also makes VW's 4Motion system
Thats why the R32 and the 3.2TT are nearly identical under the skin. The cool part is even the mighty Bugatti Veryon uses Haldex.
