I shift around 3000 to 3500 rpm. I was used to driving v8's and shifting around 2000 rpm so when I got the TT, I started around 2500, but now I'm around 3500...It feels better, and I think I'm getting better gas mileage when I shift at a higher rpm...crazy

Default The turbo just gets going around 3000-3500 so usually above that...but it depends on the purpose

I mean sometimes I shift at like 6500 or so too. :^) I think I do use 6th more than many people. Sometimes I'm in it as slow as 50 or so. & I also don't downshift all that often. Just lazy I guess. :^)

Default About the same... I came from a Mustang GT...

and actually find shifting at low rpm more satisfying around town, keeping the engine between 2K and 3.5K. I live in NJ and there's no real reward for holding the car in low gear, unless you are on a hill or something.
