Default To Keep or Not To Keep

Recently I received a 2000 TT Coupe as a gift from the orignal owner. The car is Silver whith Blk Leather interior and, overall, in very good condition with only 61,000 miles on the clock.

The A/C does not work, there is a problem with the radiator fan resulting in the car running VERY hot in the engine bay, the information display in the center of the instrument cluster is all messed up and I've been advised that the timing belt needs to be replaced.

I have a number of other cars - sports cars, convertibles, hot rods, muscle cars, etc - and am in need of a good, reliable, car that I can drive in inclement and winter weather (in Central, Ohio).

This is a very early production model TT (production unit #872) that has never had the rear wing attached. The alloy wheels have some serious curb rash but the tires are new.

So my question is can this car be the reliable, around-town, bad weather car that I'm lookin for or should I use it as a trade in on something else?

My thanks to any and all who can provide advice.

Andy.

unless you know your way around cars, you'll be spending $3k up to get it fixed. belt + labor alone is close to $800. might as well sell it.

There not very practical cars for one and not that great in bad weather there way too low. And It seems every one that comes through my shop needs thousands in work constantly. Clutch, manual trans internals, transfer case, engine, broken timing belts at 80k. If you have no real attachment i would fix the overheating and trade it.
