Default Laser Radar...

I was driving on 287 N today, doing about 100mph, and my Valentine One went nuts for about 3 or 4 seconds, I looked at it and the lights indicated the source was Laser. My question is, the Laser can take a picture of your liscense plate from what I've read, can they just send you a ticket in mail with that picture? Am I way off base here? thanks for you help.

Default Wouldn't worry about that. If you are talking 287 in NY, I don't think they are

utilizing that technology. I've had this happen with the laser two times....scares the bejeezus out of you and then nothing.

Default I got hit with laser in Wisconsin

I was on a freeway in Wisconsin(can't remember which one) and the Valentine One went nuts but it was already too late. I slowed down and a minute later the cherries were in my rearview. That was the first time the laser warning went off on my V1. Never new what hit me. Its a good thing I haven't seen laser in Minnesota yet.

Default Yep, I try to find someone driving faster than me and stay about a 1/4 mile behind him...

they light him up w/ the radar and I have time to slow down. But there's usually nothing you can do about the laser. How fast were you going?

Default There are non-speed-enforcement devices that will trigger it.

There's a huge LCD billboard adjacent to 101 here in the Bay Area that will do it, also the cameras at the various bridges' Fastrack lanes light me up nearly every day w/o consequence.

I have one, still don't want to be out in the open for him to light me up.
