Default Last exhaust question, promise. Can't find definitive answer.. on the revised Milltek 100mm

exhaust(resonated version) do you need the additional Audi center mount like you do on the BlueFlame? I've found some pics of each on the Milltek some have it, some don't. TIA.

Default You don't "need" it but...>

It does add considerably to the support of the system. Highly advised if not on there. I think they stopped with that Mid 2001...

Default no you don't. when i had my Milltek, i put it on after the fact, and didn't help with

anything. it did put it closer to the heatshield and started to rattle when cold and didn't when warmed up. although when i did put it on...it lifted that section and pushed the tips down a little further (slightly), not to my liking.

i ended up taking it off after a week.

Default also, i think i had to trim part of the hanger so it didn't hit the exhaust...

i just cut that part off.

Default I think its smart if the tang/weld is there on the exhaust but... if it's not needed I don't

want to get it. My 2003 has the mounts/nuts on the undercarrage but w/o bracket. Have a question into the Milltek resellers now.

Already planning on tack welding the Milltek to prevent rotation anyway(had a Milltek for a short period on my S4, we didn't get along lol) so that should prevent movement in itself but... thanks for the feedback.

Default I added it with my Forge/blueflame and wouldn't go without it with the 42DD downpipe.....

as there would be a VERY long run with no hangers. If you plan on going with a DP - I would suggest adding it now or then. In fact - I may be modifying my DP to add the front DP hanger back in as it's eliminated with the 42 DD downpipe.

Default Is a DP really beneficial on the K04/225 cars though? The TT doesn't have a cat

shoved right in the turbine housing like on the B5S4 and other V6/V8 DPs so... just playing devils advocate.

I plan on looking at cat replacements(or removal all together) if I get crazy on mods.

Default Well worth the money.......

dyno proven results on near 10whp and 20ft.lbs at the wheels with 91 craptane on a Mustang AWD dyno. That was with the hiflow cat and not the test pipe and my forge exhaust. I believe i'd pick up a few more HP if I didn't use the adaptor which reduces the downpipe to connect using the stock exhaust clamp which is 2.5" which then is clamped to my 2.75" forge exhaust. I've got another flange from 42DD so i'll use it to remove the adaptor and connect my forge directly to the downpipe.

Project TT DP article
