Let the modding begin!
Of the Sears DieHard replacement battery for all Audis! Yeah, right. I would have gotten the Optima Red for $40 more but they didn't have any in stock and I needed this now.
Rut Ro....the battery compartment actually has fittings that the battery is supposed to fit under and into to keep it in place.
The new battery's "lips" are too long in the front and need a notch in the back....Ronzo measuring to make sure his "mod" will fit

And of course the little notch in the rear....

Its so nice to have oTTo back...as soon as battery was done, I took him to the car wash...touchless "laser" that does a great job...although it sprays with such force that it forced into the cabin.
Timing belt will be done Monday...guess I'm on borrowed time....I saw the sign of 6 tonite...66600.

Nope....sorry....I decided it was worth it to have the dealer do it...
and after the battery tonight....I know I made the right decision:
Timing belt and all accoutrements: $1279 (incl tax etc.)
Convenience of location and loaner car: free
Not having to research parts, order parts, search forums for installation information, play gopher and listen to husband bitch and moan for 8+ hours (or however long install would take): PRICELESS!!!

You betcha...driving him today...it feels strange....the truck drives nicely and I'm
up way high...now I feel every little crack in the road...LOL...and I'm sitting on it as well!!!
And now need my sat radio installed so I don't have wires everywhere...I don't know why I held out for so long...not I can't live without it!
Next thing is to get out the claybar and give him a good cleaning.
