Default little help please....

can some one tell me where i can tap into a 12v source that is only on when the car is on or whem the igniton is on? i'm trying to wire my Defi D gauge oil temp gauge and a fan for my oil cooler. thanks is advance. also please post pics of the wire and location of it. thanks again

Trigger that fan with a relay. I forget what they draw, but I decided, since I was utilizing some existing power in the rear center console, to do some low amperage switching there and avoid any potntial issues..I figured, since Spal sold a relay kit, there probably was a reason, and I originally had 2 fans on that circuit...

Default i have a relay kit from spal(edited)...

that is temp activated and i just need to hook up the 12v that is only on when the the ignition is on so i'm looking for a place to tap into to. also do you have pics of where you wired it in behind the center console. thanks

Default i'm sorry i must be stupid but....

don't the led's only get power once the headlights come on? so won't the gauge only work when the headlights are on?

Default thanks have a question though...

in your post last night answering my question where do i tap in that is only on when the ignition is on? i must be stupid but aren;t the leds only on when the headlights are on? also do you know what fuse was used in the pic that you just posted? thanks for your help.

Yes, which is why you only want to connect the white wire to what I posted last night.

Default Yes, but I think he said there are two jacks on the ashtray, I think you want the.....

one that powers the lighter, but maybe that is on all the time.

Default okay thanks but maybe this is another dumb question....
