LoJack and Extended Warranties
I'm about to pick my 180fwd up from the dealership and want to know what you think about the LoJack and the extended warranties they offer. I think I've talked myself out of the LoJack, but the 7/75 warranty option looks good. Thoughts???

I have the lojack on my 2.8 A4...
Here's how I decided to get it, it cost about $500, and gives me a deduction on my insurance. After about 5 years, it'll pay for itself. Even if my car is stolen and the police can't find it, I get the purchase price back. In the end, I lose nothing. But, now I worry less about where I leave my car (and more about door dings!)

Warranty thought
I'm planning on selling mine just before the warranty expires, but given the technical issues I've had I would get the warranty if I was planning on keeping it longer. I would suggest getting the car as is and seeing how things go. To the best of my knowledge you have up to 1 year to get the extended. If you are lucky and get one with no problems (as I'm sure many did) then I wouldn't bother.

CR says about extended warranties...
If you feel you need one, buy from a third party, not the dealer. Nearly always cheaper and just as good coverage.
I shopped around for the TT and found this to be true, although I actually haven't bought one yet. Typically, you have a year or 7,500 miles or something.
