at a loss guys - what are my next steps? >>

i'm still getting the same code:

17579 - Angle Sensor 2 for Throttle Actuator (G188) Implausible Signal

it comes with the epc light and hard limp mode. the only fix is ignition off/on.

<img src="http://www.squarewave.com/army/andrew/ttStuff/tb_fix-007.jpg">

- is it possible this used throttle body i installed has the same issue as my original? do i try buying another one?

- could it be my boost machine? (this one is a stretch)

- the only thing left is the ecu. but why would it just have this one very specific problem? if my ecu was shot.. wouldn't there be other issues?

i'm looking for any ideas here. thanks.

Idea........

Can you try to test the voltages, while wiggling the connectors? Both at the ECU and at the TB? Perhaps something is making intermittent contact. If not, try another TB. I know mine worked fine.....

There is a process in the Bentley for testing the angle sensors. Have you tried

that?

ar design 09-20-2006 09:23 AM

Also, have you done a TBA?

I'd assume so, but thought I'd check.

Man, I love DBC. ;)

yep. doesn't show any problems. tested the voltage at the harness as well >>

no problems.

andrew.tt 09-20-2006 09:33 AM

yep. all the time.

andrew.tt 09-20-2006 09:34 AM

good idea. the only thing that makes me think that's not it >>

is it's usually at low speeds - and it does not have to be rough road.

check the wiring harness...

see if the insulation is cracked or melted. It might be shorting out and screwing up the signal.

Another idea perhaps...when I removed the black cover from mine...

I noticed one of the metal wipers was not marking the graphite wheel as much as the other ones, so I bent it slightly, to apply more pressure to insure complete contact. Just a thought.

See if these help, otherwise a new throttle body may be the best bet>>
