Default MAF 180

My buddy cleaned his MAF with the CRC Mass Air Flow yesterday. Then reinstalled it and now its reading .33 g/s in vagcom and throwing the engine light (signal to low from MAF) I watched him clean and install it, so it was done right. Any ideas why it would die like that? The MAF was very dirty and now its clean. We unplugged it VAGged it again and it was reading 0.00 g/s like it should then plugged it back in and again .33 g/s

UNREALTED
ALSO
Will a 225 MAF just the sensor part screw into a 180 MAF housing?

Default Cleaning doesn't always fix them ...

sometimes they go bad. I had this with one of mine (cleaned twice, still no good); but other ones I've cleaned and they were fine.

Default Sorry to hear. I'm on my 3rd one...>>

They usually just fade away.

Get either the remanufactued or the VW 06A906461A. ECS sell them too to $70. Some 180s have a problem with this MAF but it seem to work on my ATC engine.

Won't work without a function MAF element, those aren't included (at least mine wasn't)

Stock should be pulling around 150 - 165. Try the $70 MAF from ECS.
