Default Maybe I just solved the boost problem? See what you think....

Okay, after having replaced the coolant sensor and MAF to no avail (boost still dropping to zero at 5k rpm), I decided to do more poking around under the hood.

I took off my battery cover and was looking at the TTDA feeds....(I have the simple install short hoses).....The upper port hose runs down into the fender well, and the lower port hose runs down under behind the headlight. I take the battery cover off and look with a flashlight at the lower port hose. It appeard the end of it had been pushed flat against the battery cover and appeared to be essentially cut off. So.....just for giggles, I just took the lower hose completely off.

After 15 minutes of test driving hard, I'm getting full boost to redline now.......Weird. I had initially thought that maybe the engine was requesting all this air and was essesntially getting suffocated since it was only breathing through one tube? I called Schwing and he thinks it sounds more coincidental than that actually being the culprit. He says it should still breathe OK through only one tube....

So, the moral of the story is, I don't know yet. I'm gonna run for a couple days like this, and still VAG-COM it tomorrow to see for sure.

I'm still gonna turn that boost machine back on too, incase I run into anymore redneck Mustang drivers.......

I agree w/Steve - one hose is probably more than the stock box by a signif %...

How 'bout a test... Tape the lower hole shut, and see if the problem comes back...
