Default meem: i have fondled the wheels

comparing the two on their own, the punched leather wheel wins hands down. it looks and feels better. however, i'm not sure if it will look good in the tt. the leather on the punched is much lighter than the oem tt wheel. i found that the tt's leather is darker, and that is why they made the oem wheel dark -- i don't think that the punched leather will match at all inside the tt

my final verdict: you should get the alcantara. since you will be doing interior work on the tt in the future, i think the alcantara wheel could really work in your car -- i also think you wont be happy with the leather match (since you're a picky bastage ;-)

Default thanks for the report! at this point though, we have no proof ...

that the tt wheel is not a different color leather from the ultrasport punched leather wheel. given that audi offers this as an oem option in europe, i would be surprised if the leather did not match the seats.

Default well, i don't know if my brother's black leather is darker than every other tt's

if it isn't, they *don't* match. i don't know if the age does it, or what he uses to clean his seats does, all i know is that they do not.

Default interesting. i'm still inclined to order it and see ...

if nothing else, it's something different to try. i'm not crazy about the alcantara wheel as it does not wear as well as leather.

Default tell you what, i will take a picture ...

with the a4 wheel, and the tt knee pad. you'll see. i'm just worried because your tt is older too -- i bet your leather is darker also. ultimately i know what you'll end up doing, but it wont hurt :-)

Default lol, i feel like a dumb *** now...

after having both samples of leather in the same light, i found that the leather does match. the problem was that the tt doesn't let in as much light into the cabin as the a4 (doesn't help that the tt is heavily tinted)

meem, i think you should do the punched leather, but i'll make my final decision tomorrow in daylight :-)

Default lighting is key

right now i don't have a source of light, so it's too hard to make a *final* decision -- also too hard to take a picture

i will post a picture, and final decision tomorrow
