Default Some comments

I used Craftsman in Leesburg and was also less then happy with the result. I don't think they are used to the incredible level of anality that they are dealing with when fixing an Audiworld member's vehicle. It's still no excuse for crappy work but I'm sure that the vast majority of their customers say "wow, my car has a bumper and drives straight again, thanks!" and overlook that panel gap...

(1) badges in wrong place. (they messed up my front quattro badge too, after explaining that it was certainly important that it was in the original location they fixed it)

(2) bumper extends 1/4" beyond quarter panel at wheelwells.
(3) bumper part below taillight is inset about 1/8" (my headlights and hood were misaligned and the gaps were fairly uneven, they offered to fix it if I brought it back and eventually got it looking pretty close to perfect)

(5) the repainted areas are not only streaked horizontally, but there is a noticeable drip right in the field of the repaint area. (there were 5-6 specks/bumps in my paint that looked like dirt that got onto the surface before painting which I made very apparent that I was not pleased about. they said this always happens with non-factory paint work and that if they repainted it would just happen again. after some debating back and forth I finally gave up)

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. My multiple body shop experiences played a big part in my decision to get rid of the TTR. Defiantly bring these issues up. I think they all can and should be addressed...

Default Dunno what to say

They didn't have to mess with any stinking badges on mine so I have no experience there. They put all the parts back together right for me.

I was actually impressed with their painting QA. They kept my car an extra couple of days because they weren't happy with the first outcome and wanted to do some more blending. I've since noticed only two minor paint flaws, one in an area where the factory paint was already flawed and the other really, really small. Not worth messing with.

Based on my positive experience, I'd give them another chance to fix things right. But I know Brian had trouble with the Leesburg shop, so maybe they just suck and I got lucky.

Default If you don't mind traveling to get this taken care of, call Chuck Scilipote at ACS--

410.833.5697. His shop is MB certified--tell him Cliff and Dave recommended you.

Default Thanks everyone

I'll try to get them to adjust what needs adjusting, and see if they will repaint as well.

Thanks Dave and Cliff for the name of the shop in Reisterstown. I don't mind traveling for a good shop considering I drove to Falls Church from Frederick. =O
