For MichaelTT, yes its a DV question.
My TT will be 2 weeks old and expect to have the bailey valve this week. I have not experienced the annoying problems like some have experienced but feel that I will replace this before it goes bad or it may already be in poor condition and not even be aware of it. Well anyway, Do you still suggest that I unplug the ECU? Will unpluging the ECU reset anything else other than the learned engine performance behavior such as service reminders etc.? Many thanks

Starters...it is the instructions that state that the ECU be disconnected...
the AWE/Bailey Valve instruction noted the requirement to unplug the ECU so as clear its learned memory of the engine management profile while using the OEM DV...this is a common practice when changing components of an engine. My recommendation, though my opinion, is this is a must so as to obtain the benefit of the Bailey. Like a home computer, there is RAM and ROM thus unpluging the ECU does not effect ROM (as in unpluging a home computer) but rather the RAM (or learned engine profiles) thus anything that is 'RAM' based will be erased.
