Damn... Horrible. Sorry to hear about that Jeff. My wife's 525i had a similar fire
when her "recalled" brake light switch overheated and caught on fire. Only difference is that we stopped the fire. BMW had the car for 5 monthes, and the repair was just north of 35,000 bucks. They fixed the car even though it was out of warranty.
The lesson I learned. If you have one start burning, just grab some marshmellows, and blow on the fire. Sorry about your car. Time to think about all the killer mods you'll be doing to the next one.
