Miss my TT, but TToyed with a Boxster in NJ in a noble roadster!!
TT back in Bay Area (home)--went to friend's wedding this weekend in Summit NJ and was able to pull the 63 Elan from storage and take it out--been about 1 year since it was driven (really!) It is a completely different car of course, much more fragile than the TT, and designed for a different purpose--4 cylinder DOHC, 130 HP, 1200 lbs fully gassed!!
Don't want to get into accident in it, which is why it is made to avoid accidents. Pulled away in second gear from a Boxster with passengers in both cars. Think I surprised him when I took a sharp corner at 50. Gave and got the "thumbs up" Sorry if sounds like I am gloating, but this is the true toy that got me into engineering and into the appreciation of cars! I really would suggest trying either an Elan or Super 7 if the opportunity arises--there is nothing in my opinion that comes as close to a highway drivable go-cart! 37 years old and still performing (the car I mean)!

Love that car...
We fall for the seductiveness of the modern cars, but the really great old cars make us think whilst we drive.. and work whilst we drive.. always wanted an Elite, but of course those were the college days and money wasn't in abundance... any chance you could post a picture?<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/akracttq.jpg" border="0">

I have driven a Europa, Super 7 and also the Catherham 7 copies . . .awesome cars!
Colin Chapman sure knew how to make an ultra light race car for the street!
I always loved driving the Lotus'. They are tons of fun on the street and also on the race track!
I had some friends that raced them and I used to take them for some laps too!
Glad you enjoyed your drive. <p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3285"><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/ttsig.jpg" BORDER=0 alt="Click for Mods"></a>

Agreed. These were "true" roadsters. TT is a luxury roadster, heavier...
Now you can buy the Catherham but also the Lotus Elise or the Donkervoort<p>Franck
