About 3 weeks out. 2mm laser cut stainless. Will allow Ventilation like the AWE set-up. Figure about $20

I want the first one!

I can't wait... this is great. Make sure that there is enough room for the mounting feet from the back to hold, looks like there should be.

TTinCT 11-11-2004 11:00 AM

Perfect timing....guess what's coming in??????

a 52mm boost gauge...<SIGH>

MODCAVE technology is cool! :)

Re: Modshack 52mm Gauge Vent Holder preview...>

Yes, That's an excellent idea Steve. You will sell lots of those. ;-)

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 11:25 AM

Once...

your secret mod is in.. I need to come take a ride!

TT_Nuge 11-11-2004 11:29 AM

Not really but I want to be on that list!!

And just in case, why waste your time reading this post AredTT? I wasn't talking to you.

TTinCT 11-11-2004 11:37 AM

Absolutely...:)

YosemyTT 11-11-2004 11:50 AM

TTschwing 11-11-2004 11:58 AM

TTschwing 11-11-2004 12:10 PM

A weeny 52mm gauge?

BTW I'll email you your tracking #...:-)

1 Fast TT 11-11-2004 12:20 PM

I would be intrested

shifTT 11-11-2004 12:30 PM

nice... now I need a vent... anyone?

TTschwing 11-11-2004 12:33 PM

I'll have instructions...>

On how to take one apart without destroying it...
It's not that hard. Gauge mod can always be undone.

TTschwing 11-11-2004 12:47 PM

Gotcha....:-)

shifTT 11-11-2004 01:13 PM

hmm... still think I'd feel safer having a separate unit to take apart

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 02:04 PM

Same.. I think that a lot of us would like that "package"

TTschwing 11-11-2004 02:21 PM

Last time I bought a vent (few years ago) they were $23.....Dunno now.

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 02:22 PM

So this piece fits inside the vent?

TTschwing 11-11-2004 02:25 PM

Yup....You dissasemble and use the aluminum...>

ring and the front plastic piece. Little Silicone seal and it's set for install...Slides right back into the hole. Whadaya want for $20...LOL...

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 02:26 PM

I LOVE it...

now I just have to find out how to feed my harness through there to get to the vents.... please tell me I don't have to pull the stereo.

TTschwing 11-11-2004 02:29 PM

Dunno on the center vents, but..>>

Pulling the stereo takes about 10 seconds.....
If you have those keys to insert in the slots...

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 02:32 PM

How do you feed up to the center vent area?

TTschwing 11-11-2004 02:34 PM

I would pull the radio and the side kick panel...>

Should be pretty easy to figure out from there. Lot's have done it.

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 02:48 PM

I was worried you'd say that....

I'm going to try to get at it without removing the stereo... One less thing on my dash finally.. I hate having my gauge up there.

leTTcco 11-11-2004 03:16 PM

cool...but does it still retents the function to open/close vent?

TTschwing 11-11-2004 03:26 PM

Uh......No, fraid not...>

You can't stick a gauge in a vent and expect it to still open/close. The mechanism shown here, is removed.

That damn Dan 11-11-2004 04:58 PM

Lower dash removed...there's room to for wires up the side of the radio.

That damn Dan 11-11-2004 05:00 PM

Another nice score......You're gonna make a living at this ain't ya?

TTschwing 11-11-2004 05:04 PM

LOL...Thanks Dan..>

Not $20 at a time I'm afraid...Lucky I have some retirement money I can tap!

That damn Dan 11-11-2004 05:19 PM

I'll bet it beats the hell outta showing up for work every day.

TTschwing 11-11-2004 05:22 PM

Yes it does!

kodeTT 11-11-2004 05:27 PM

powdercoat them black and you have a winner.

I'm not sure AWE powder coats theirs, but it is painted black which disappears and the gauge appears to 'float' in the middle.

TTschwing 11-11-2004 05:38 PM

Good idea....I'll offer both probably..

shifTT 11-11-2004 05:45 PM

I suggest anodized black aluminum

TTschwing 11-11-2004 05:49 PM

This was just tacked on to a GadgeTT order..>

so it had to be the same material. only 15 coming. If there's any demand, I'll consider other materials....

CusTTom "Quag" WesTT 11-11-2004 05:52 PM

Very good idea.

leTTcco 11-11-2004 11:51 PM

but still nice..if it can achieve the looks of the AWE gauge, count me in!

TTRicks 11-12-2004 12:02 AM

I like it. I agree that black will probably look best. Great idea!

Silver Pig 11-12-2004 02:35 PM

Count me in..

..I improvised a way to fit my gauge in the center vent, but I'd love something more solid.
