No, they are not crap, but they got here last night from my connection in Germany, used. Is there something special I need to do to open them up or should the key just turn? I'm thinking they sent the wrong key! It goes in, but just doesnt turn...

on other roof racks, you have to press down on the arm to get it to open. tried that?

Default Look at the code on the lock... should be a 3 number code...

then go to Thule's website and enter it in to see if they can supply you a replacement.<ul><li><a href="http://www.thuleracks.com/product_locks.asp?Key=true&amp;type=thule">Thule Site</a></li></ul>

Default Give it a shot of WD40 to see if that loosens it up. Mine get uncooperative from time to time.

And I have used various versions of the Thule bike carriers, always fork mount but they all work pretty well.
