My Dealer Is Chip/DV Valve Friendly
I can't believe it. I was advised today by the head of the repair department that they have no problem with chips and DV replacement. They draw the line at emission "improvements." The head honcho seemed to like the MTM chip.

I'm thinking they're "chip friendly" right up to the point where you show up with a....
...seriously broken motor. The true test of "chip friendliness" is their response on that day.

Re: Sandy you're in FL aren't you? If so, who's your dealer?
Yes, I am in the Orlando area, and my dealer is Classic Audi in Orlando. I always found it a pain the in the butt when I took my SVT Lightning in for service to pull the chip, and remove the after market Airaid airbox.
OcTTober: Your point is well taken - that is the true proof, however, if that was to happen, I'm afraid I would have to bring it back to stock prior to getting it to the dealership. That being said, it is not easy for the dealer to prove (which he must), that the chip, etc., was the cause of the problem.

DON'T TRUST A DAMN THING CLASSIC HAS TO SAY UNTIL PROVEN
OTHERWISE TO YOUR OWN EYES AND EARS.
There's a good reason everyone from the Orlando Q Club goes to Continntal in Melbourne. Actually, lots of them.
Sorry for the shouting. Don't trust those FutherMuckers.

Might want to be a little discrete about this....
Those dealers who may be kind about modifications will most likely stop if they get their hands slapped by AoA. Might want to share dealer names via a slightly less public method.
Don't get me wrong....I think that dealers who show a little kindness to enthusiasts should be promoted, I just worry that we may inadvertently get them in trouple in our enthusiasm.

Agreed...but you prove my point that you don't really believe that they are "chip friendly" since...
...you would make the effort to return it to stock for warranty repairs. A true "chip friendly" dealer would not expect this.
I kind of look at a "chip friendly" dealer as in the same genre as the bartender who "likes" salty peanuts.
