My interior rear lid and gas cap release crapped out...
all of a sudden today. I found a few previous threads here on the board that indicated it's a phantom problem that appears and then seems to correct itself after a while.
The rear lid opens via the key fob, but not from inside. Anybody know what's going on?

I thought that the lock/light bug was a s/w thing?
Somehow thought I'd remembered reading something on http://www.auditt.org to that effect.
Never did try & replicate the problem tho....
As to the interior buttons, that's a total "beat's me" type thing. One thing I might look at is if they light up when the headlights are on or not. Would at least say power is getting to a portion of the switch.

Re: My interior rear lid and gas cap release crapped out...
It happens on my '01 225QR. Strange, it seems to come and go. Most of the time the buttons work, so I decided to live with it rather than have the Audi service department take interior pieces apart.
Maybe it's a metaphysical situation. ;o)

I am the one who speculate that the lock/light bug is a sw bug.
But don't take me too seriously
The fact that fixing a ground fixing the lock/light bug only changes the nature of the sw bug in my eye: The software may have been designed and tested assuming a ground value at one particular hardware pin. Losing that ground value may very well cause strange things to happen.
But again, this is just a speculation. The nature of the problem makes this sw guy speculate like this. That's all.
