Default Need a 20 ton press (for those DEFCONs)? ->

I had to get one. Definately DEFCONs would need it, but I had to replace the front wheel bearings in my 21 year old Type 44 (that's an Audi 5000 for you new school folks). After deciding the strut had to come out to figure this whole bearing thing out I ended up going to Harbor Freight and it was.... on sale! There are four pressings and one pull to do this job. The car is like new again (I bought it new). What a difference.

So now I have DEFCONs, a press, but still need to get the bushings. And it's not like anyone on the list lives close but if you ever find yourself in Boise you're more than welcome to use the press.

I could not believe how cheap the press was. Cheapest at McMaster was over $1000!

Default When I first became unemployed....>

I spent a fair amount of my unemployment checks employing Chinese factory workers building machine tools! Ironic eh? Some (not all) chinese tools are pretty good and ridiculously cheap..I think 99% of Harbor freight stuff is Chinese..

I have a Chinese Mill, Lathe, Drill press (with a Sears Label) and 2 Pwr Hacksaws and they've been workhorse tools..

Not sure if a 20 Ton is absolutely necessary, but it's not that much..

http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=shop+press</a

Yeah, that's not too painful at all (except for the topmost couple).
