Default Need help with codes (repost)

a couple weeks ago, i had a cel and my car didnt seem quite right. i stopped by seans and he hooked his vag up to my car and got the following codes:

17536 Fuel trim bank/system to lean
17522 Internal Resist too high

sean posted the codes that night and i only got 1 response. not sure who responded but they indicated that it might be a bad maf. if anyone has a bently manual and can translate these codes i would very much appreciate it. thanks in advance.

Default I have been getting the 17536 code too. not the other one though.

I cleaned the MAF on wed. but didn't notice a difference. I hope to get my VAG-COM on friday so I can clear the CEL and see if it comes back.
Also ordered a new OEM DV for good measure, should get it on mon or tues. Hopefully I won't have to buy a new MAF.

Let us know what it turns out to be.

Default Hey dude. You could try cleaning your MAF. <OR> Replacing with the VW MAF>>

I use CRC electrical parts cleaner. You'd need to go out and get yourself a set of "security torx bits". They look the same as a regular torx bit, but with a hole drilled in the center. Take the connector off the maf sensor, then remove the sensor itself. Spray it off thoroughly, and let dry. The electrical parts spray will not leave residue on the sensor.

If that doesn't work, you can replace your maf with the Volkswagen part. I picked mine up at Impex. At the time it was on sale for 45 bucks, which was nice. It's 65 now, but that's alot better than 300+ for the Audi part. It's working fine in my car with no issues whatsoever. I believe their are several people here using them. Blutto put one in his car and I believe it's working good for him as well. Here's a link to the VW MAF at Impex. It's a "blanket" application for 2.0 and 1.8t VW engines.

I also posted a pic. When you order this part you also get the VW MAF housing which you DO NOT use in the TT. It's not the same size. What you do, is just remove the sensor and replace it into your housing. In the picture you can see the security style torx. You should be able to pick up a set of security bits at your local parts store or sears.

http://www.vwparts.com/partlist.cfm?listtype=specials&getpart=8395#pa rt8395</a

Default that might be a good option.....

valley motors cant see me until 9/30. i cant deal with that long of a wait because my "friend" wants to get chipped at h20 int. and a bad maf would rain on his parade. btw, my car did throw another cel last night.
