Default Need some help installing a boost gauge

I'm putting in the AWE vent gauge, and following the installation instructions that came with the gauge, at one step it says

"Remove the cover off the white wiring connector box in the corner of the firewall area under the cowling.
Remove the rubber blanking plug, as shown in Figure 8.
With a razor or x-acto knife, cut an "X" in the middle of the rubber
blanking plug.
Insert an end of the silicone hose included with the boost gauge
kit, and slip half of the hose through the plug."

Is this (pic from my car) the cover they are talking about? It doesn't remove very easily and it's not white. Also, I don't see a "rubber blanking plug."

In the next step, it says
"Drop one end of the hose down through the wiring connector box, into the passenger compartment.
Locate this end of the hose in the passenger compartment androute it through the relay panel under the dash as shown in Figure 10."

I also don't see where this connects into the cabin, which is where you are supposed to route the hose.

Any help? This isn't as straight forward as the instructions make it.

Default Uh oh......Now I see the reason for the Wiper question..>>

Those instructions are all bogus. You don't have to do any of that. There is a plug and a pass through under the dash just above the Gas pedal....Feed the hose through there. No need to disassemble all that other stuff....

Sorry...You asked the wrong question first...

Default Those bastards! Yep, found the plug, thanks Steve. I was just searching back through other posts

and found others who have done the same. Dang, I shoulda done my homework first (rather than trusting the instructions that came with this thing)!

Default Another question: Should I run the hose through that hole without the rubber plug?

Or drill a hole in the center of the plug and run the hose through that? The hole is larger than the hose so there is a gap around it. Just want to make sure that wouldn't be a problem...

Default Won't be a problem...>

But air and noise will come in through there. I've got so many wires runing through mine, an ant couldn't wiggle through!

Default I'll give you a little advice about that small "T" they give you for tapping >>>

into the FPR. Be very careful putting the hoses on. Any twisting motion without plenty of lube will result in this:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84508/picture_040.jpg">
I was relocating hoses after installing the Samco intake and while trying to get this off, the frigging thing with the reducer in it twisted...almost in half. Apparently this happens alot as the "T" is on back order due to so many failures like this. Just dump it right off the bat! Buy a decent "T" with a reducer if you can find one...I couldn't. I used a regular "T" without the reducer and then fitted a straight connector with a reducer into the hose leading back to the gauge. Works great...no buzzing.

Default Hmmm.. thanks for the tip. I did get it on, but it did take a lot of twisting and pressure

without any lube! I hope it's OK... seems to be.
