Need to vent...Faulty ABS, Faulty Audi NA! (long)

I have had no other problems with my 01' TT225Q till now. The car is out of warranty at 58K and is 3 years and 10 months old) The ABS/ESP Brake light comes on when I start the car. After the car is warmed up and restarted the light is off. Very consistant. I take the car to Commonwealth (Orange County,CA)in the morning with the light on so that they can diagnose. They call back later in the day and say that it is a faulty Steering Angle Rate Sensor ($500 for diagnosis, part and labor)I pay for this. They then call back and say the the car will also need a new ABS Control Unit ($1,200) but that they don't have the part and can't get it in time for my trip. I called Audi North America to get some assistance on the repairs since the car is not even 4 years old. Two days later they call back and tell me tough luck! No assistance on this repair because the mileage is over 50K. No appeal process either. I could of purchased an extended warranty for the 2K!

Totally sucks! I'm taking the car in for exact same thing next wk.

I bought the ext. warranty for $2400. But this is the first time I will have used it. Hopefully I don't get any flack from McKenna or the ins. company. Mine has been doing the ABS light for a while. Doesn't quit on warm up though. It's really random. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all, then all of a sudden. Have to stop the car and restart and maybe it will go off. At least I can add to the list, the things the dealer should look at when I deliver the car. You're right though, since the car doesn't capture the code, having those lights on when it goes to the dealer is almost essential. Sorry for the cost though. I would just die if I had to spend that kind of money.
