Default New 2001 TT225 Coupe owner!

After 3 1/2 weeks of being car-less (sold my 99 A4 before hand), I have wheels again Besides the painfull, rude, etc, etc process of going through HP Fed Credit Union, the purchase went smoothly. After much color consideration, I chose the same color combo I had on my A4, silver/black. Love this car Took it up the Poudre Canyon for a nice scenic drive. ahhhh. However, I did have on glitch...the infamous window gremlins. The window stopped 1 inch from the top. The only way to reset it was to turn off the car. Today, it rolled halfway down by itself...then cured it self. After searching the forum, I've concluded it's probably something to do w/ the amount of friction the window has...it does squeak alittle on its way up. I didn't want to put silicone on the window yet, since I'm having tint put on tomorrow. anyway, sorry for the long ramble

Default congrats on the new TT!

as for the window problems. A few people have had them go up and down. I was in a TTR the other day and it kept happening. We did as you did, shut the car off and restarted it and it "cured" itself.

The window squeak I had the dealer "fix". I guess they sprayed it with something, but the squeak is now gone, but for how long?

Good luck and enjoy the car.

Default Also, a Bose question...

Would mega-bass help the Bose in the Coupe? Maybe I'm just spoiled from my previous A4 (did an aftermarket setup...myself...Kenwood, PPI, KEF, etc.), but the Bose currently doesn't cut the mustard. I don't really want to do surgery again...once in a lifetime is enough. It's not just the lack of bass, but the sound isn't the clearest. Any suggestions?

thanx

Several here have done the "MegaBass" code added (VAG tool) and like it but recently people have said that the difference is less marked in a coupe. I've been considering it....

Default if your not happy with the clarity, then adding the "mega-bass" won't do it for you

all the mega-bass does is turn off the Bose electronics and turn the radio back to the standard COncert stereo. It gives you the fader for the rear speakers, give you more control of the bass and treble and midrange.

I have heard a few of these and some sound better than others. The stereo is not very consitant in the TT.

If you had a nice stereo in your A4, you might never be happy with the TT stereo. I know I wasn't.

Default larry is correct...you will get much "clearer" sound with an aftermarket unit...

larry has a super system (much $, however).
