New 2001 TTQR owner (Long)
Hello...
I just recently got my hands on a new FULLY loaded
2001 TTQR. Unfortunetly, the car is VERY rare
in San Diego and I had to pay a $5000 premium. I
feel that was a not so small price to pay to get
me into the TT right away (versus a 9 month wait).
Needless to say, the car is awesome. The only
things that I feel needs to be changed is the
ride height and the engine noise level.
Lowering the car about .75 to 1 inch would make
the TT absolutely stunning. Im assuming Neuspeed
makes springs for 01 TT.
Engine noise level you ask? Well, I like my cars
a little loud. Once I get used the car, I
never look at the tach. I go by the feel and
sound of the engine to determine optimal shift
points during extreme driving. We have a lot of
nountian roads in San Diego and you bet I will
take full advantage of them. An open element
filter should raise the noise level enough. Again
I will probably go with Neuspeed or K&N filter
charger.
Any other suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
I only want to make subtle changes so the dealer
does not give me any problems with any warranty
claims I may have in the future.
This my first Audi and to say that the designers
paid attention to detail is an understatement.
This car is a funtional work of art. I feel
honored to have one .
Thanks..
Jeff

Re:Yes I did...
I bought it at Metro Audi/VW. I was looking
into a buying GTI 1.8T for a daily commuter
when the salesperson said she had a TT Roadster
with ALL available options with a $5000 premium in
the "basement". I thought about and bought it
the next day.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, is your roadster a 225 or 180? (more)...
I also live in S.D. and have a Nimbus/Amber 225q roadster. If you haven't already done so, you might follow the link below to the SoCal Audi TT Club. Sniff around, then click on "Join" and follow the link to the Yahoo Clubs companion site. The price is right (free), and we will likely do a group drive in the very near future.
