Not a Zaino/Zymol or Spoiler or no Spoiler Question...
While visiting some auto tech types today came upon the discussion of 'EPC' on the TT. The manual for the 225 reads as if the EPC system is something akin to a 'limp home' function when something is failing within the engine management system (the EPC symbol will appear in the tach pod when first starting car)...one tech said that when taking a 180 TTQ out that when pushing through a corner the EPC light came on and the turbo boost died and thus the engine 'slightly stalled...as in a controlled stall to prevent a 'over boost' scenario. I responded that I have NOT heard of this function for the 225 but yet when you turn on the ignition there is a EPC indicator...I am assuming that the function is a 'limp home' and not some engine management activity preventing over boosting from the turbo.
Comments or ideas????<p>2001 Amulet Red 225TTQC

I cannot answer your question, but...
am I correct in assuming that these "nameless" tuners may be interested in your 225Q for "development" purposes?<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3177"><img src="http://members.home.net/cmelick/audipics/sig6.jpg" border="0" alt="Click Image to View Registry Information"></a>

OK, you have me curious...
From the 2000 Audi TT Coupe Manual:
"Electronic Power Control EPC
The indicator light will come on when the ignition is switched on. It should go out about 3 seconds after the engine starts.
If the engine management system experience (sic) trouble while you are on the road, the indicator light will come on to alert you. The electronic engine power control system will automatically switch to the failure-mode program. You will experience some reduction in engine power. Drive the vehicle to an authorized Audi dealer as soon as possible."
Sounds like "limp-mode to me!"<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3177"><img src="http://members.home.net/cmelick/audipics/sig6.jpg" border="0" alt="Click Image to View Registry Information"></a>

Exactly...but apparently some are experiencing this 'limp home mode' under
I haven't and can not understand why the EPC would come on for 'over boost' situation since the boost et al is totally controlled by ECU...I think it is a non issue unless there is an exactual engine management system glitch. Just trying to verify my immmediate assumptions.<p>2001 Amulet Red 225TTQC
