Default Now that winter is among us...............

This could make for an interesting discussion. There are conflicted reports for proper warm-up time for our cars. The manual, Audi tech's, car magazines, etc. all have different views on what a cars proper warm-up time should be. What do ya'll think the correct time should be for our TT's. Was just curious on everyone's diffent opinion on this topic. Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.

Don't warm it, start it, let it idle 30 sec., then drive it.

Default What he said! ----- more...

If you let it "warm up" - you will fail. A cold motor warms much more slowly sitting at idle than it does being driven. Therefore, the motor will spend considerably longer time running below normal operating temperature sitting around, than if you drive straight off after a few seconds. That's exactly what you want to avoid, and what you would be trying to achieve by "warming it up." Drive!

Default i sometimes drop a lit match into the gas tank...

that serves to warm it up very well...there is a light explosion inside the gas line....but that just helps WAKE ME UP in the morning.

needless to say, the car is then like a missile launcher!

Default In the manual it doesn't recommed warmming up >>

I always just start her, and drive, but I won't let the RPMS go past (or too far past) 3, and slowly raise that as she warms up.
