O2 sensor causing check engine lite...

Well after hooking up a vag to my car, it stated that i had an O2 sensor on bank one front that was causing the check engine light. Is this is huge problem ? From my knowledge this isnt really a big deal ? Should i get it checked out ? I dont really notice that much power loss, except maybe i rev 300-500 rpm higher on 3rd and a very slight loss on mpg's... input ?

02 sensors are cheap...>>

I picked up a few with the correct 4 wire plug for under $20....
