Default offset question

I posted an earlier thread with a picture of my rear wheel camber.Checking today I noticed that my new 18"X7.5 have an offset of+38.If I use the spacer offset calculator I end up with 28.7mm inside fender instead of the standard 22.7mm and the rear wheels end up with 34.7 mm instead of 28.7mm.I end up with my wheels 6mm more inside which was not my intention.Spacers will be necesary.I am wondering if the fact that my wheels are more inside by 6mm could in fact effect the camber .Before making any move it would be nice to now.I will be getting the alignment checked anyway to see that all is OK.

Default Spacers won't fix your camber issues, as camber is not a measeure of how tucked in your wheels are.

Camber is a measure of the degree of tilt to your wheels. Looking at your wheels from the back of the car, you would see one of these situations:

L R

/ \ That would be negative camber (from your first pic it looks like you have a lot of negative camber)

| | That would be a camber of zero

\ / That would be positive camber

Since your wheels have negative camber, adding spacers would only bring your wheels outward. This would only change your set up from both rear wheels looking like this /..\ to this /....\

All this being said, its really subjective to just look at your pics and determine how bad your camber is, esp since your wheels are so tucked under the fenders due to your high offsets. Your best bet is just to bring the car into a shop and have them measure your camber.

Default camber has nothing to do with your wheels, tires, or spacers...

its the vertical plane on which the hub is aligned. check your tie bars and trailing arms. something is not right back there.

Default Problem is...>

Without some camber correction parts on the car (Kmac or tiebars) it is not adjustable so if the prognosis is not good it will require a return visit...
