Lone Starr (Ivan)

It was a great war movie. But I am so beaten up by the violence that I can't sleep. If you are of the school that violence is necessary in a picture about war, then this is the film for you.

There are no specific performances to speak of since it is truly an ensemble picture and the ensemble is HUGE. Tom Sizemore is making a career of war movies. I swear he was in "Enemy at the Gates" in addition to SPR and now BHD.

This is the definitive war movie of the modern school of war movie filmmaking for sure. The battle never stops. You are right there, no matter what part of a building or body part is blown away. It is so definitive I think the genre is now officially ripe for parody.

It was a great movie. Please (god) leave kids under 17 home. Hell, leave anyone that can't watch the first 23 minutes of SPR home since the realistic gore is 40% worse.

This is not a date movie or a feel good movie. You feel good I suppose that the men accomplished their duty, even though (this is history, not spoilers) many die and America gets it's *** kicked with prejudice. But it is probably the only big movie that will be made about the Somalia Battle and is quite well done and needs to be viewed.

I suck as a movie reviewer.

I saw it too and the hyper violence was very disconcerting. SPR was kid's play next to this.

Yep, I was just being particular about seeing it in late December! It opened early here in LA.
