Default Oil analysis back from the lab

basically:
1) Too much dirt ingestion, which is elevating the upper engine wear (Cr/Al/Fe/Ni). (The higher boost of the modified engine makes this worse by increasing the intake air flow rates.)

2) too much fuel dilution from short trip driving, which is causing the oil to degrade rapidly.

i just ordered an amsoil filter for my TTDA which should filter much more particle out.

i'm looking for a block heater solution, in the mean time i'm just spending more time in the car when it's cold to get it up to optimal temps. work is 5 minutes away so the car doesn't get warm by them.

Default :o) I guess it's just one of those things...

Mine always has fuel in it too. I purposely drove the interstate today just to try to "burn" off any latent fuel in my oil...

Default 20 bucks, 30 if you want a TBN.

worth it for me considering my variables IMO. and it seems like a mom and pop family run organization.

they will also test a virgin sample to get your baseline detergent level if you want an exact range. 1-3 day turn around. free kit etc. or you can send them your own bottles.

http://www.blackstone-labs.com</a

Default Here's my last one. It's Revo chipped with dino oil and a stock filter--no other mods.

Default funny thing on the national averages

i'd imagine the national average sample would have to taken with a grain of salt...different engines, different values...also, i'd imagine most engines are in the fat part of the curve...not the tail ends...nevertheless, it is a good look at what possibly is going on in the engine. Unless you're in the tail ends...I wouldn't worry too much. what do you think?
