oil burning...others?????
My 2002 225TT has 7500mi. At 3500 I had the oil changed at the dealer. Today the check oil light came on and upon checking the oil it was not even registering on the dipstick. Adding a quart brought it up to 1/3 on the dipstick. It's not leaking because I hve a white painted garage floor that is spot free. Has anyone elses TT used this much oil???

Re: was this the first time you checked it since the change?
yes. I've never owned a new car that I've checked after the first few thousand miles when changing the oil every 3500 miles or so.

First 5K used 1qt. Second 5K about .5 qt. Last 9k mi 1 qt.
It seems like it is going down over time.
I added about 1 qt before the first (5k) service. About half qt before second (10k)service. Now has 19,000 (9k since last oil change) only used about a qt (topped off by dealer, btw) in 9K mi. I'm going to estimate that by the 20K I will not need a lot, if any more oil.
The manual says it is normal. I don't know what a normal quantity is though.

You should get into the habit of checking the oil at gas fillup. I check it every fill-up on all my.
...cars. The Audi is certainly leading with the most amount of oil disappearing. Not concerned as long as it doesn't increase.
But you should check it at every fillup. It doesnt take that long. Gives you something to do while the gas is being filled up anyway.
I check the oil, other fluids, and clean the window in the exact amount of time it takes to fill the tank from empty. Every fillup, rain, snow or sunshine.
