Default ok, i think I finally fixed the problem on my car...

I own three DVs a well used Turbo XS (took apart and you should see the wear on the piston!), a well used Forge 006 and a hardly used GFB hybrid BOV. Well after installing the ECS N75 I found some imporvment but I was still bleeding boost swapped out the 006 for the xs and it was worse. Said what the hell, and stuck the hybrid BOV and shazm my car is running well again!!! I don't attribute this the BOV, just a DV that is not f'd up. Adjusted it and no mo flutter like my original install and it is working like a charm. I will be buying a close loop GFB DV ASAP.

Pic of install, not a great set-up imo but it works for now.

I do not think this BOV is a good idea BTW, just working for me now.

Default yeah its to bad the forges dont last long...im on my third

piston and its just about had it...no amount of servicing and re lubing helps once the piston gets worn fractionally...

Default Good...glad to hear that you are back =)

I am curious about your wear on the Turbo XS, wasn't it good ole' AUJ that suggested that the Turbo XS would never wear out :-/

Default hhhm, wonder why I have not had the same thing ????

I should pull the 007p off that I have now, it was brand new at the point of Stg 3 install, should have been put through the ringer by now, I should check it.

Default Well figuring I put at least about 20k on mine

probably the most anyone running the valve has and probably not what it was designed for.

No o-ring on that bad boy, and with mm between piston and wall of DV only so much lube(yes I said lube ;--p) can do.

Default What gives Marcus? Are you going back to stock? First the airbox, now the DV? What's next? Turbo?

Default check for an abraded section equaling total piston travel...

no matter what greases i used the contact area seems to scrape minute quantities of aluminumm off of piston which mixes with grease and abrades the piston further..for this kind of seal ....i think its bad engineering..oring is susecptible to distortion and piston wears to fast..probably chose this kind of metal cause its fast and easy to tool the part..

Default yeah ive put about 25K miles on both a 006 and 007...i would say they

are good for about 5k miles tops...then you need a new piston and orings..
