Older TTs vs. Newer TTs
I own the 2000 TT 180 coupe. After 2 years of annoying issues (mostly electrical in nature), I'm thinking it's a "first model year" situation.
The question is: Is it? Meaning, if I buy a 2002, am I protected against most of the electrical idiosyncracies inherent in my current TT?
Thoughts?

I have a 2001 and have never had any of the electrical problems mentioned by a few others here
I've only had 3 problems in nearly 2 years of driving and all were either fixed immediately or SHOULD be fixed when I take the car to them in 2 weeks.
1 DV replaced and front bushing replaced because I would get a popping (sounded like something bottoming out), when I went over speedbumps and such.
I also have a popping sound when I back up and turn to the left. Not sure what it is (neither is anyone else here YET) but I expect that it shouldn't be a difficult or troublesome problem to fix (I hope).

2002s seem to be better, but no issues with 1/99 build 2k180 either....well...
Maybe it's color-related? Quattro? Color? (Er, silly question I'm sure, but is your name Foe-Hammer?)
Seriously, though the cluster has reset once, but we pretty much determined it was caused by a loose fuse as we had hit a huge pothole. It's not happened again in nearly 2 years.
There is an issue of condensation from drinks in the cupholder dripping into the phone wiring jack and causing some upset.

Alas, not necessarily....
There was a 2002 here not too long ago that had the lock/light bug from the factory, something that was a known problem that had a known fix as long ago as September, 2000.
Then again, I haven't heard of it being a wholesale problem, so perhaps it was just a one-off issue.
I do know I have heard a lot less of instrument cluster replacement on 2002s; if I remember correctly Audi was upset enough about the problem that they changed vendors sometime in calendar year 2001, meaning by definition MY 2002 vehicles are less prone to such failures...

Foe-Hammer as name
Of course my name is not Foe-Hammer. My mother had at least some sense of propriety. My car, on the other hand, has an owner with none whatsoever. ;-)
Tolkien reference, that's all.

Re: 2001 225QC, 20K: no electrical problems.
Maybe then I just have a lemon. I don't know if that makes me feel particularly better. I've had it in three times to fix window motors. twice for instrument cluster. Once for gas gauge. Another for A/C. Now intermittent headlight issues (one goes out, then presto, it comes back on).
