this week we have a Rally at Smokey Mountian II.

This is a differnet set-up but was a suggestion of larry's.

We will run in Arcade Mode, Single Race, Hard, with the cars from the rally garage. You can use the Imprezzas (the prototype and the other one), Lancers (EVO VI & VII), 206, Corrola and Focus. You cannot use the Xsara, Delta or Escort.

The time you need to post is what our total is for the race, which is a 4 lap event.

Times are due by 12:00 midnight EST on Sunday.

All of these are the unmodified cars meaning that there are no-turbo upgrades allowed. You can use one of these from your home garage.

The track we are using is track #7 in arcade mode. Tracks 7-12 need to be unlocked. In order to unlock these tracks you have to race in arcade in HARD mode and WIN all 6 arcade tracks! One you win them you have to save the results and the next 6 tracks are unlocked. There are 34 tracks in the Arcade.

I did this in about 2 hours this afternoon. I used the Mercedes CLK230 using an automatic tranny for the 4 road courses. So long as the computer does not put another CLK230 out against you, you CAN win like this. Just don't make any mistakes and block the other cars if you have to.

For the rally tracks I have an Escudo in the garage so I used that, just made things easier.

This is the ONLY way you can unlock the rest of the tracks. The first race this weekend will be the first track that will be won in our quest to unlock the rest of the tracks.

Hopefully Bret uses this format for the 5 races after this weekend as well.

I also posted that I think we should use the fastest lap as a bonus point. Meaning everyone should post their 4 lap time and also post the fastest lap achieved in those 4 laps. Best lap gets you an extra point. Just because you have the best lap bonus does not mean you also will have the fastest 4 lap time. I think it adds something to the racing.

My suggestion is just that, a suggestion and is not official until Bret approves it. But collect the time and submit it anyway, maybe it will be used.

I think that is a good idea. If everyone turns in their best lap from only that 4 lap race in which they submit we can have one extra bonus point.

Larry I will put this on the club tommorrow, but if you want to put this in the messages please feel free to do so.

Just because I never post times first I will now. I've been tuning a certain car (legal for the car of course) but my best lap time in my fastest 4 lap race is a 1:16.343. The best total time is sub 5:12. That is now the benchmark!

The funny thing is on the 1:16.343 which is my fastest time to date, is that I really could have driven a faster lap and gotten into the 1:15's so I don't think that this will be my final attempt, just maybe for tonight!
