Default Heard that on the way to work; made me sad. He seemed like

a very genuine person. Enjoyed his silly commercials.

Default Too bad it wasn't Dave Thomas, cornerback unextraordinaire.

Might've freed up a little cap room!

Default When I was doing some work at a leading restaurant & beverage company in corporate strategic plann'g

We did some analysis on the Wendy's success story. It was determined that 1) Dave hated doing commercials but 2) he did them because he was more successful than a more traditional ad campaign.

They also were leaders in producing specialty meals. They would charge 10-20 (or more) cents more for these short-run products and people would buy them to try them out (typically) at least once. These people were NOT coming to Wendy's to try the sandwich...they were coming anyway. This meant that Dave had found a way to bump up his revenue/profit by 8-18 cents for these people. That's pretty cool!

I see the silly ad; I learn about a new sandwich; I make a choice on where to eat (pick Wendy's); remember the new sandwich; order it... good planning I think.

Now if only they would get a more efficient ordering system. ;-)
