OT. More logical to write days first , months second ..
and the years last.
When a person wonders the date , days come first to learn not the year or month ! IMO.
Which one do you need to learn first? The year or the day ?
Do you usually forget the year or the day? :-)) Or the month ?
So, what do you want to see quickly first?
Day, month or year ?
14 / 10 / 2001
If anyone cares !

Actually, I am good with numbers and usually remember the day, but not the month... especially at
the beginning of the month... (kind of like new years for some, writing cheques with the previous year). Unfortunately, I don't think of the month as a number.
Month/Day/Year !!!
Month/Day/Year !!!

Here's the problem: You can't differentiate between D/M/Y and M/D/Y ...
8/10/2001 could mean either August 10th or October 8th, depending on where you're from. For example, in the U.S. people tend to use M/D/Y but in England many people use D/M/Y. This issue caused me endless headaches when I first started working with people overseas.
Normally, I prefer 10 August 2001, which is completely unambiguous.
However, for things like computer file names, I always use 2001-08-10. That way, sorting alphabetically does the same thing as sorting by date. (Computer file dates are unreliable because they can get modified by accident.)

Deal ! 14 OCT 2001 :-)
As you've said , it is also very confusing for the OTHER people overseas like me ! We are both living overseas according to each of us :-)
I must agree what you've said about computers because I don't have much knowledge. But, for example it's very annoying to search backwards in the Forum ; ( 2001-13-05 05:07:9 )
Thanks for caring :-)
Peace.

Your right . We don't have any diffuculties with time stuff b/c
we already use 18.30 system here in Europe.
Good to remind the time problem too.
Maybe it's time to start a campaign to redesign the time and date writings in the U.S.
We are quiet a number here in the Forum.
