thinking about buying this for my winter, etc. vehicle in addition. The TT got a little beat up last winter.

Anybody here have any experience with the Ford Sport Trak?

Default my mother has one and I drove it for about a week...

It has a fiberglass bed, so that is useless for heavy hauling. The rear is entirely too light and found myself spinning the tires from normal take off. Also on wet roads I slid right through an intersection with abs going like crazy the rear was so light it was useless and the fronts locked up instantly. I didn't like how it drove, the gas milage sucks, its ugly, and I'm pretty sure I heard it make an anti semantic comment. All in all, pass. there are many other things out there that are much better.

Default LMAO....was thinking the same thoughts....Sorry Wendy...sounds like you might want to keep looking

Do you need a truck? Most are going to be light in the rear end unless you fill it with cement blocks or a couple yards of sand.

Default it was 4WD...

Are you looking for something like that in particular? do you need the open bed for hauling or would an SUV work? If I were shopping for a winter beater I would likely pickup something cheap and japanese.

Default Everyone is entitled to their say. As they say...

opinions are like (fill in what you like for a body part), everybody has one. Hey...I'm married to Mr. Opiniated.

Didn't we hear similar comments about our TTs over the years?

I plan on being an informed buyer, as always. The internet is a powerful tool.

Default The objective is to have an AWD family vehicle

without succumbing to an SUV or a box (minivan) that has lots of hauling space. The wagons that appeal to me are just too damn expensive although I may end up with another Volvo.

I refuse to drive a Jappy Crappy and I already have a 15 year old Volvo. The objective is to get something new, utilitarian and reasonble.

In addition it's based on the previous gen Explorer. So if you want a 10 year old truck go for it!

Can't go wrong with the Toyota Tacoma if you can get one in that price range.
