Default Past TT-East event locations...>>>

I did something similar a few weeks back where I mapped all past TT-West event locations, here is the same for past TT-East event locations. I read that some feel that there is an anti-South bias when picking TT-East locations, but the majority of TT-East events have technically been in the "south", at least below the Mason-Dixon line.

Anyway, I commend Hans for bringing TT-East into the Northeast which is new territory for the event. I also feel that this is a wise move for him given that this will be his first time organizing TT-East and the location will be close enough for him to do some excellent pre-event recon and planning. I know that this year's TT-East will be another first class event!

And I'm sure that the event will swing back south or even further west next year... or my hope: Kentucky!

Default Statistically, more TT-East attendees have come from the northeast.

I think it's primarily due to the population density in the northeast, so it make sense that the numbers skew that way for TT-East attendance.

Default Ditto! I think the events don't have to be "deep south" or "up north" for people >>>

to travel! (I should even include traveling east and west too!) That's what the TT is for!! Plus, it's a terrific excuse to see the beautiful country we live in, meet great new friends from all over, and just because it says "TT-East" or "TT-West", doesn't mean it's "exclusive" to that area! It's a fun event for everyone from everywhere!!

Also, when you get the TT Events Survey at the end of the event, make your voice heard and give location suggestions and why you want the event there. "I don't want to travel far" is NOT an excuse!!

Be part of the TT event!!

Default It figures.

I always like to see sompe place I haven't been to, at least once, and I think it's very unfortunate that there are those who won't attend because it's "too far to drive" - they're missing out on a lot, and not just when they get to TT-East. Not sure where my cut-off point would be, but Chattanooga was about 2K miles including the r/t and driving while down there. I'd do that again.

Default there will always be those that aren't happy it's not in their direct backyard or in what

they deem to be the primo "spot" for the event. While I don't consider Cumberland, MD "the south", regardless of the geography of the Mason-Dixon line (apologies Peter), I would consider Asheville and Chattanooga to hit that criteria in my mind.

I would never have visited TN otherwise and had a good time, regardless of my mechanical failure, nonetheless. (I left with one heck of a story and memory of it all, all over a $90 part!)

People who have differing ideas on the venues location, timing or planning are more than welcome to set up as entertaining an event as they can muster in their absolutely fantastic locale on their own and drop a line to us all to attend... (and critique!)

;-)

Just my 2 cents.

Default There was no Anti-South bias...>>>

It was just John. He's been waving the Savannah flag for months.

Default I understand, that's why I created the map to give a visual on where TT-East has been held.

No location will ever satisfy all, that's one thing that I have learned! But what do I care? This is Han's problem now. ;P

Default haha on Hans - but the location shouldn't matter because as his shirt aptly states...
