Personal APR93 review ... (sort of a ramble but hey) >>>
Finally, after owning my 225 for a year and a half - i got myself APR First off, the only dealer around the Toronto area to get it is Johnston Research and Performance (JRP) who are quite the bastards to deal with - slow, utterly unreliable for appointment times and bitchy to boot. No big deal, i ground my teeth for almost 3 hours before Rob was done soldering the APR chip in-place of my original, i never said anything about the slowness since i figured i've waited this long so might as well wait some more
What i got was APR 93oct and FCE/TBA - as a rule of thumb, coilpacks 2+3 went instantly (now i've had all of em replaced) and i finally got some free time to go down to Agincourt Autohaus for my 60K km service = *bows down* best dealership i've ever been to, any car maker. I also tracked down some 0W-40 European Formula MobilOne at a local porsche dealer, very impressed with it so far - smooth, revs are quick and cools down much quicker than 5W-30.
The result - wow, much respect to the APR guys for designing such quality programming. Power is neverending in any gear, eats gas like a motha when being 'driven' but mileage on highway is INSANE, smooth as silk in any driving situation and just overall wow, i've read just about every review on this forum over the 3-4 years i've been here but experiencing it yourself is just priceless.
Not bragging but simply for comparison - so far victims have been a modded 350Z with SSR Comp rims (end of 4th he was a car and a half behind), new SL500 cabrio 100km/h to 200 (was not far back at all), a couple of CBRs in some zigzag highway action up to 180km/h (on my *** like glue, no surprise and a modded GS400 (full exhaust, chip and SRT intake) end of 4th he was about 2 cars back. No .. i don't race all day long disregarding the law, just happenned to have a few runs randomly on Highway7 this week
I think thats about it - i'm very glad i took the route i did before chipping, if i had chip without all the little mods i've done beforehand i really doubt i'd enjoy it and be able to control the power as i'm able to now. Any questions or comments appreciated, cheers - Max

Thanks a lot but i think what you meant to say was that your TT looks mean :) >>
so ... do you wash yours daily too ? hehe
what makes me quite happy about the Flik Wasps is that they are around 160$us a piece, weigh 21.5 pounds and look expensive - in other words i'm not worried about em when i'm throwing the car into tight turns and giving it a boot i'm loving the black rims for now but in the near future would love to get my hands on some Sportecs (like yours, mmm) or MTM BiMoto rims, both of which are super pimp

I used to wash it 2-3 times a week...
for a period of about 1.5 to 2 years, I drove it to work everyday. I'd then get up a few times a week at zero-dark thirty and wash it in the driveway. One morning I got to work and an e-mail from my neighbor asked if I was "f-ing crazy" and told me that they had seen me in my underwear washing the car. lol! Now, I wash it once or twice a month. Haven't driven it regularly in over a year... in effect, it's been retired - at least for now.
As for those wheels, they are pretty inexpensive. I might look into them when I finally tire of the Sportec look.
Enjoy!

Hehehe ..... yeah that sounds familiar >>
my neighbours are constantly cracking jokes about me washing the car when the forecast calls for rain or snow the next day, even both their 6 year old kids have picked up on the poking - maybe 1-2 times a week i'll be washing TT right when they are coming home from daycare so the usual question from them is "How many black cars DO you have?" i just smile and wave, hehe Need i mention i'm still a university student with loads of spare time on my hands (when i'm not in class or working to make $$) so every chance i get i check over the entire car, make sure all bolts & clamps are tight - sort of a madness of mine.
Yet the good thing is - the TT is such a small, round and cleanly designed car that washing/drying it is a breeze. When i first got the car, i took it to one of those super-hi-pressure no touch carwashes - before i knew what the hell happenned, i had soap water pouring into the car at the top of the windows, where the seals just couldn't hold the pressure. After frantically mopping up the pools of water i had in my back seats as well as passenger i decided never to take TT to a carwash, only self wash.
Cleanliness & everything being neat is my pet pieve aquired from my grandfather - *shakes head* perhaps when i get the $$ together in the far future i'll custom repaint the whole car Carrera4S grey and make it a bit more metallic, mmm.
If its not too much to ask, how modded is the 'retired' TT of yours ? mod list ? thanks

Well, you asked for it...
Of course, I have a list. The only part I didn't cut and paste is the $'s spent. THAT part of the spreadsheet is something that I can barely look at... I'm not much of a masochist. :-)
