Default Picked up my front spoiler from the dealership. All ready to install. Need help (more)

Was it Bipes that did a write-up on the front spoiler install? I don't know if I should attempt it myself or not. Will I need clamps for when the adhesive sets?

Damn. So now I have the spolier AND the boost & oil temp gauge pak, and need to install.

Ugh. Maybe I'll just call NGP or Induktion up.

Default I didn't really do an install post, just before and after....

Follow the instructions with the package.
you may want to get some different glue.
The Audi-supplied stuff is very difficult to work with, it's very stiff in the tube. My tube burst about half-way through.
get some stuff or advice on stuff from a body shop.
3M makes some really good urethane adhesive.

You will need 2 people to position it once the glue is on, then press it into place.

Use some 3M'Blue' masking tape to keep it in place.

If you need more details, let me know.

Rather than glue from Audi would it not be possible to use the 3M brand or equivalent double sided auto tape? It is thin, about 1/2 inch wide, not messy, and is designed to hold trim strips on the exterior of cars. I personally have purchased it to use when I install my Bonrath CUP Wing spoilers on the front of my TT. I did not want to drill holes. I have seen on another Audi site where a modified car in Boston that was done for a show in 2001 or 2002 had JE Design front spoiler edge wings and rear valence edge wings from a different manufacturer installed. The installation used the 3M tape and there was one screw used on the JE items for the front that was a re-use of an existing Audi screw on the edge of the front wheel opening.

This is the first place where I have seen information that the Audi front spoiler is glued on. I have asked one Audi dealer about how it is fastened, but parts guy there did not know. Now that I know about the glue thing I am happy that I opted for the Uberoth side flaps from LLTEK because they did a paint match for me before shipping them that is better than the paint match my local shop was able to do for my front license panel.

In any event, I plan to stick my Bonrath items on with 3M tape rather than glue and screws.

sorry, that will not work. There is too much vibration up front for this to hold.

Default Don't plan on driving fast.....>>

You might get away with tape on the wings for cosmetic purposes, but add a little more aero and you'll need some support. This set-up generates downforce you can FEEL....Adjusters are through bolted to the aluminum bumper behind the nose.....
