pics from roadtrip to Wilhelmina State Park in Arkansas (bandwidth warning)
When we returned from TT-East, JoTT suggested that we have a weekend GTG in the mountains of Arkansas. That area is centralized enough that it would allow folks from the central part of the country to possibly attend and get a chance to drive some fun twisties while getting some fantastic scenery.
My son and I took a roadtrip up to Queen Wilhelmina State Park in Mena, Arkansas today. We ate lunch at the QWSP hotel / lodge and got some pics of the area for those of you who are not familiar with it. I also took some great video of the road up to the lodge...as soon as I can find someone who will host about 3.5 minutes of it I'll post that, too.
The area is GORGEOUS and the roads are fun to drive. I hope that JoTT is still interested in going up. I am very interested in a GTG. I was thinking that maybe we could all meet in Texarkana on a Saturday morning, drive up to Mena as a group (approx. 2.5 hours or so), spend the day and night up there on Saturday, and then drive back as a group on Sunday morning.
What do you think? Jo -- are you still interested? Anyone else? Drop me a note or post here.

Oh, yes: houTTini may really want to visit the QWSP hotel. The buffet there offers FRIED OKRA
for lunch!!!!!!
Yeeee-haw! Unfortunately, they did NOT offer any mac-n-chez that I was able to see on the vegetable selection.
